Xihengshan Gold Deposit is located on the iron,copper,and gold polymetallic belt in the middle and lower reaches of Changjiang River.The ore body mainly occurs in the structural fractured zone in form of veins and lenses.The ores are mainly oxide ores,the main ore-forming element is gold while copper and silver locally coexist andare associated.The ores are in particle structure,inclusion structure,metasomatic structure,veinlet structure,dissemination structure,block structure,and so on.The alterations such as limonitization,silicification,carbonatization,and argillization are intense.The ore body genesis is mainly structural fractured zone and locally contact metasomatism.NW and near EW fault structural fractured zones and NE interlayer structural fractured zones are important ore-conducting and ore-hosting structures.The Au anomaly is consistent with surface mineralization,which is a direct prospecting indicator.The study uses the ore-bearing rate method to assess the resource potentials of the structural fractured zone with lower control degrees and it shows that the district has the potential for large-scale gold deposits.A comprehensive study takes that the district has favorable geological conditions and good physical and chemical prospecting anomalies,which is an evident prospecting clue and shows great resource potential.
