The determination of silver in copper telluride by fire assay gravimetry is lengthy in operation and time, less effective, and not applicable to the test on the samples from smelting enterprises that come in large amounts and require rapid analysis at the same time.In the test, after the sample was dissolved with hydrochloric acid and nitric acid,a method for the determination of silver in copper telluride by flame atomic absorption spectrometry was established by using air-acetylene flame and determination wavelength of 328.1 nm in 20 % hydrochloric acid medium.Under the optimal experimental conditions, there was a good linear relationship between silver concentration and its absorbance in the range of 0.30-3.00 μg/mL,and the correlation coefficient was 0.999.The detection limit of this method for silver was 0.002 μg/mL.The limit of quantification was 0.007 μg/mL.The relative standard deviation of the determination results was 0.19 %-1.0 %.The recovery of reference materials was 98 %-103 %.The results are consistent with those obtained by standard methods. There is no significant difference between the two methods. The method could be used for rapid analysis and determination of silver in copper telluride in the samples that come in large quantities from smelting enterprises.
