In response to the issues of low production capacity, high labor intensity, and poor operational safety in the process of mining for medium-thick ore bodies in a certain mine with a gentle dip,an extraction method combining sublevel open-stope mining with remote-controlled scooptrams was analyzed and determined based on the occurrence conditions of the ore body. The on-site engineering application results show that this method, combined with medium-long hole blasting technology, solves the technical difficulties in mining the medium-thick ore body in the gently dipping mine. The production capacity is more than doubled compared to the room-and-pillar mining method. It successfully addresses the issues of poor operational safety in the mining area and a large loss of ore dilution, demonstrating favorable economic and social benefits. This method can serve as a reference for similar mines.
