Valuable metals that are worth recovering such as copper, lead and zinc are often contained in cyanide tailings. In the case study of cyanide tailings residue in a gold mine in Shandong, mineralogical study on the cyanide tailings residue is carried out in terms of chemical multi-element analysis, physical phase analysis, particle size analysis, mineral compositions analysis, monomer dissociation degree analysis. The results show that the cyanide tailings resi-due particle is microfine, with -0.038 mm accounting for 91.23 %,and the minerals of lead, copper and zinc are galena, chalcopyrite and sphalerite, gangue minerals are mainly quartz.According to the ore property,it is decided that preferential lead separation-cyanide breaking-shear-flocculation copper separation-cyanide breaking-shear-flocculation zinc separation process be used to comprehensively recover lead, copper and zinc minerals.Conditional tests are carried out separately to decide the optimal reagent dosage.Closed-circuit test can obtain lead concentrate with lead grade 25.89 %,lead recovery rate 77.67 %;copper concentrate with copper grade 17.89 %,copper recovery rate 66.45 %;zinc concentrate with zinc grade 42.55 %,zinc recovery rate 75.00 %,which are good indexes.
