Abstract:

The calcine from the roasting of some gold-bearing pyrite contains 3.90 g/t gold and 44.32 g/t silver. The gold in the calcine is mostly naked/semi-naked gold, partly included in iron mineral, making the grinding-leaching process suitable for gold recovery. The new low toxicity type of gold leaching agent KJ-1 is selected for gold extraction. The effects of grinding fineness, hydrogen peroxide dosage, lime dosage and other process parameters on the gold leaching index are investigated. The results show KJ-1 gold leaching effect is equivalent to sodium cyanide,KJ-1 is environment-friendly with less toxicity.Under optimal conditions obtained, the gold and silver leaching rates reach 86.15 % and 76.73 % respectively. The gold and silver are effectively recovered from the calcine. The study provides technical support for the effective utilization of this type of resource.
