Abstract:

The Erge Region is located on the Wuerqihan volcanic passive continental margin on the accretion zone of the southeast margin of the Siberian plate, the middle section of the northwest side of the Derbugan fault.Regionally, the region is located in the northeast section of the NE metallogenic belt of Central Mongolia-Erguna,and the ore-forming geological conditions are similar to those of the adjacent Jiawula Silver Lead Zinc Deposit and Erentaolegai Silver Deposit.Based on the comprehensive study of the metallogenic geological background, mineralized alteration, and geochemical anomalous characteristics in this region,1∶10 000 soil geochemical survey and trenching are used to verify the 1∶50 000 comprehensive AS8,resulting in prospecting breakthrough, including mineralization belt and ore body find. The comprehensive analysis takes that acidic volcanic rocks are favorable spots for further prospecting of silver polymetallic deposits, and that Erge Region possesses the potential of the formation of medium-low temperature hydrothermal, vein type silver polymetallic deposits related to Mesozoic acidic volcanic rocks and late-phase dikes.
