The cyanide-containing wastewater from gold mines has a wide range of pollutants and is difficult to treat. The MVR-alkali chlorination for deep cyanide breaking-reverse osmosis combined process was used to carry out pilot tests and industrial applications on two types of wastewater,i.e.flotation wastewater and mixed wastewater. The results showed that the process can achieve the standardized removal of copper, lead, arsenic and mercury in the wastewater, with the total cyanide compound reduced to about 0.1 mg/L,COD reduced to below 40 mg/L,and ammonia nitrogen reduced to below 2 mg/L.The direct treatment cost is low, only 57.90 yuan/m3.The successful implementation of the project has formed a complete cyanide-containing wastewater treatment process for gold mines, which has low cost and broad application prospects.
