Abstract:

The Qiyugou Gold Deposit is located at the central segment of the Xiong’ershan high ore concentration district. At present, four types of gold deposits have been discovered in the Xiong’ershan high ore concentration district,in which porphyry gold deposit is one important type. The porphyry gold deposit is represented solely by the 189 ore bodies in Qiyugou Gold District which occur in the Yanshanian granite composite pluton. The main ore body occurs at the top of the brecciated and silicified cores of the fine-grained granite composite pluton below the level of 400 m,and other branch ore bodies occur as veins and stockworks. The wall rock alterations of ore body are well developed, and silicification, pyritization, potassic alteration and biotization are closely related to gold mineralization. The porphyry gold ore body is controlled by the granite composite pluton and wall rock alteration zone, which can be regarded as the major prospecting indicator.According to the comprehensive study of geological background, the geological and physicochemical characteristics of Qiyugou Gold Deposit, the prediction is that the deep level and periphery of the existing ore bodies might have great resource potential.
