Abstract:

Based on field geological surveys and laboratory rock physical and mechanical test data, the rock mass quality of the slope at Daxigou Iron Mine was evaluated, and the physical and mechanical parameters of the rock mass were determined.Using numerical simulation methods, stress, displacement, slip zones, and safety factors for the slope during different stages of open-pit mining were analyzed. The research results indicate that the safety factor of the slope decreases as the bench height increases.Under natural conditions, the safety factor in different excavation stages remains above 1.8,indicating good slope stability.Rainfall significantly affects slope stability, and under saturated conditions, the final slope’s safety factor decreases to 1.36.However,this is still above the safety factor (1.25-1.20) stipulated in GB 51016—2014 Technical Specifications for Open-pit Mining Engineering in Non-coal Mines, indicating that the mine’s slope design parameters are reasonable. The research results provide a reference for the design of subsequent safety facilities at the mine.
