To address the problem of large-scale cyanide tailings storage in the gold industry and achieve bulk utilization of high-silicon tailings,a pilot test was conducted based on previous successful small-scale laboratory experiments. This study focused on producing European-style interlocking ceramic tiles using high-silicon tailings as the primary raw material. The results indicated that, under firing conditions of 1 100 °C and a firing time of 56 min, ceramic tiles with up to 70 % high-silicon tailings content could be successfully produced. This approach effectively resolved issues related to black core and deformation, meeting the standards for water absorption and strength set out in GB/T 21149-2007 for Type Ⅱ sintered tiles. This technology realizes the harmless,resource-based,and product-oriented utilization of high-silicon tailings.
