Abstract:

This study targets 2 types of wastewater from a gold-copper mine, namely copper and cyanide-containing wastewater and acidic copper-containing wastewater.Tests were conducted on HCN volatilization, neutralization conditions, copper resource recovery, and Prussian blue preparation. The study examined the iron precipitation rate, the removal rate of total cyanides, and copper recovery. Results indicated that during the first neutralization stage, controlling the pH at 4.0 resulted in an HCN volatilization rate of 0.04 %,an iron precipitation rate exceeding 98 %,and a total cyanide removal rate of over 97 %.After two-stage cyanide breakdown  with hydrogen peroxide, the mass concentration of total cyanides was reduced to below 5.0 mg/L.With an annual wastewater treatment volume of 870 000 m3,the economic benefits surpass 40 million yuan. This research provides insights into cyanide removal in bio-oxidation tanks for gold concentrate processing, significantly reducing the cost of cyanide breakdown.Additionally,it offers a reference for the preparation of Prussian blue dyes and precursor materials for electrochemical energy-related batteries.
