Abstract:

To investigate the influence of charge structure and in-hole delay on blasting vibration in open-pit long-hole blasting, the Sadovsky formula was applied with Matlab software to fit peak particle velocity (PPV) data from multi-level benches under continuous charge structures. Attenuation formulas for PPV in 3 directions were derived. Analysis reveals that vertical PPV attenuates fastest, while horizontal PPV exhibits similar trends. At secondary benches. horizontal PPV slightly exceeds vertical PPV, attributed to elevation amplification effects. Comparative analysis of in-hole delay structures in interval charge demonstrates that delay times of 15 ms and 25 ms significantly reduce blasting vibration, providing practical references for similar engineering projects.
