Abstract:

The Machangqing Gold Polymetallic District is located in the middle of the Lijiang gold polymetallic metallogenic belt in northwestern Yunnan with a superior geological background for mineralization. The district has variety of groundwater types, which can be pided into three categories:pore water, fissure water and karst water. The different groundwater shows great differences in water richness and the main type is micro-hard water.Groundwater seepage can greatly change the physical, mechanical properties and mineral components of the rock mass, thus reduces the quality and strength of the rock mass. The engineering geological conditions are deeply affected by the structures, causing the overall fragmentation and poor integrity in rock mass.Among the engineering geological rock group in the district, the relatively hard and soft rock formations, represented by carbonate and cataclastic rocks, have the worst physical and mechanical properties and the poorest strength, followed by the hard rock group represented by clastic rocks and magmatic rocks. The comprehensive evaluation results of hydrogeology and engineering geology have guiding significance for further mine development and safe production.
