Abstract:

"Three rare" mineral resources investigation has become a national strategy. This paper summarizes the basic characteristics of "three rare" minerals in Jilin Province based on the national study and compilation of mineral geology, pides the "three rare" elements deposits into 3 secondary classifications:magmatism, metamorphism and sedimentation, and 11 tertiary classifications according to the classification scheme of deposit types in "geology of mineral resources in China",and also analyzes the resource potential of various types of mineral deposits. The study shows that the alkali-rich intrusive rock belt is an important target area for searching for "three rare" minerals, and the Neogene alkaline volcanic rocks around Changbaishan Tianchi are the main research region for "three rare" minerals; the Mesozoic volcanic rocks in Songliao Basin contain the potential mineral resources of "three rare",the mineral resources associated with oil shale, molybdenum mine and coal mine have a certain prospect and comprehensive evaluation should be strengthened.
