Mining loss and dilution are inevitable in mining operations and the rate of loss and dilution is an important quality indicator to evaluate the performance of mining development technology.In the case study of Wushan Copper-Molybdenum Mine,the paper put forward a new series of technology and measures to control mining loss and dilution in open-pit mining process,including improving geological resource management with advanced 3D mining software; optimizing mining technology,employing separated drilling and separated blasting of ore rocks,applying field and real-time management of construction; studying muck pile loosing rules,designing new method for piding ore and wall rocks; using operation control platform to realize smart monitoring.The engineering practice shows that these new technology and measures greatly reduced mining loss and dilution rate,making profits of 21.06 million yuan.The amount of gangue rock removal is 100 000 m3,ore recovered is 23 000 t,creating economic profits 12.71 million yuan.
