Abstract:

The gold deposits (spots) in Longkong-Reshuidaban area of western section of North Qilian is produced in ophiolitic melange belt, which is composed of volcanic group in Lower Ordovician Yingou group and basic-ultrabasic rocks. The ore body exists in the NW (NWW)-trending tectonic fracture zone. The wall-rock of the ore body is the tuff and basalt of volcanic group in Yingou group, and the ore-bearing lithology is tectonic breccia. The wall-rock alterations mainly include pyritization, carbonation, silicification, and the deposit genesis belongs to the medium-low temperature hydrothermal deposit.By analyzing the typical gold deposits of Longkong and Heicigou, and summarizing the ore-controlling factors and prospecting criteria,it is considered that there is a section with similar geological background of typical gold deposits in ophiolitic melange belt.In this section,10 comprehensive anomalies according to 1:50 000 stream sediments survey were circled and examined,26 soil comprehensive anomalies and multiple ore-bearing structural alteration zones were circled, indicating that the study area has good prospecting potentials.
