Primary halo characteristics and deep metallogenic prediction of Beigou Gold Deposit in Jiapigou Gold Field

Abstract:

Beige Gold Deposit is located in the north of Jiapigou Gold Field and  in the middle of the NW-trending structural alteration zone of Jiapigou.The ore body occurs in gneisses of Jiapigou group,and the ores are mainly quartz vein type and quartz stockwork type.Based on the study of geological characteristics,ore characteristics and primary halo geochemical characteristics of the deposit,it is considered that gold mineralization is closely related to gneisses of Jiapigou group,potassic granites,and Mesozoic intermediate-acid dykes.The NW-trending structural alteration zone is the main ore-controlling structure of Beigou Gold Deposit.The results of primary halo analysis show that the longitudinal vertical zonation sequence of the Beigou Gold Deposit is As-Hg-Sb-Ag-Pb-Cu-Te-Au-S-Bi-Zn-Ni-Co-Mo-W-Mn.Based on the analysis of vertical geochemical zonation pattern of element in Beigou Gold Deposit,and the fact that the distance from the abnormal center of frontal halo elements Hg to the head of the ore body is 240 m,it is predicted that the ore body should be at the depth of 1 050 m.Through the comparison of the existing drilling information,the ore body has been found,which is consistent with the prediction results.
