Experimental research on sulfating roasting-acid leaching for a copper-cobalt concentrate

Abstract:

A copper-cobalt concentrate is used as raw material to recover copper and cobalt by pyrite ore blending,wet slurry preparation by sodium salt wastewater,sulfating roasting,sulfuric acid leaching process.During the process,the influence of grinding fineness,roasting auxiliaries,roasting temperature on the copper and cobalt leaching rates is investigated.The results show that under the optimized conditions:the grinding fineness is -0.074 mm accounting for 85 %,pyrite and copper-cobalt concentrate mass ratio is 1:10,sodium salt wastewater is 90 mL,roasting temperature is 660 ℃,roasting time is 90 min and leaching time is 30 min,the copper leaching rate reaches 97.63 %,cobalt leaching rate reaches 97.50 %.The test index is good.
