The accurate determination of gold content in Venturi mud is of great significance for guiding production.The study uses fire assay preconcentration to establish atomic absorption spectrometry method for the determination of gold in Venturi mud.The proportioning,cupellation loss and matrix interference were investigated,determining the proportioning to be sodium carbonate 30 g,lead oxide 80 g,silicon dioxide 8 g,borax 10 g,with which best-quality lead buttons can be obtained,gold loss in cupellation is small,and the gold determination is not influenced by matrix and impurity elements.The relative standard deviation of the determination results is less than 3 %,and the recovery rate of the reference material is between 99.5 % and 100.5 %.The method can be used to determine gold in Venturi mud and provide data support for production.
