Abstract:

Siguiri Gold Deposit is located in northeast of Guinea, and at the intersection of regional NWW and near SN fault structures.Based on the research of geological background and deposit geology characteristics,ore-controlling factors are analyzed. The orebodies, which occur as vein and tabular shapes, are hosted in the weakly metamorphosed Paleoproterozoic Birimian series.Wall rock alterations are mainly composed of silicification, carbonation, chloritization, albitization and so on,in which silicification and carbonation are closely associated with gold mineralization.Gold mineralization is mainly found in coarse-grained clastic rocks of Fatoya Formation.Magmatism may provide both heat and part of the material sources for ore-forming.Orebodies are controlled by secondary faults formed during the compression-extension transition period of the late Eburnean Orogeny.Fault is the most important ore-controlling factor.
