Deposit characteristics and prospecting prospect deep in Babaoshan Mining District in western Henan Province

Abstract:

In recent years,in the national 358 prospecting breakthrough strategic action,prospecting breakthrough has been made in the general survey of iron copper polymetallic ores deep in Babaoshan Mining District,a medium-sized copper deposit submitted.Besides,molybdenum ore prospecting has made new breakthrough.Based on the study of metallogenic geological background and geological characteristics of deposits deep in Babaoshan Mining District,it takes that the ore body type can be pided into skarn type iron copper ore body(contact zone),porphyry copper molybdenum ore body(inner contact zone) and hydrothermal lead zinc silver ore body(outer contact zone).The metallogenic background,ore-forming process in the mining district and ore body characteristics in the deep part are comprehensively considered,and the prospecting prospect deep in the district is discussed,finding that deep in explora-tion line 53, 55, 2 and 4 are favorable prospecting sections for North-Ⅲ coper molybdenum ore bodies and  deep  in exploration line 19,55 and 2 are favorable prospecting sections for South-V molybdenum ore bodies; the south ore belt trends laterally north while the north ore belt trends laterally south,likely leading to v-shaped ore-hosting structure formed by the south and north ore belts at -700--500 m elevation and generating strata rich in ores.The research provides certain reference for prospecting similar iron copper polymetallic deposits in the district.
