Abstract:

A concentrator of a gold mine in Xinjiang previously used mixed mercury-flotation-cyanidation process to recover gold, generating about 1.5 million tons high-grade flotation old tailings stockpiled. In order to improve comprehensive resource utilization rate and further recover gold from old tailings, based on process mineralogical study, the regrinding-flotation process was determined and the test conditions were optimized. When the Au grade of old tailings is 0.69 g/t,the grinding fineness of -0.074 mm accounts for 90 % and XJ-11 is used as efficient slimy gangue mineral inhibitor, the closed-circuit test of once roughing, twice cleaning and three times scavenging obtains the gold concentrate with Au grade 26.22 g/t and Au recovery rate 57.26 %,indicating good technical indexes and achieving efficient recovery of gold.
