Abstract:

The Watang area is located in the east part of the rift in eastern Liaoning, where many deposits(spots) have been found and the metallogenic conditions are favorable. The geochemical characteristics of Watang area were analyzed on the basis of 1∶10 000 soil geochemistry survey. The paper studied the geochemical characteristics, analyzed statistically the element variation coefficients, the single element anomaly and the combined element anomaly, and discussed the metallogenetic potentials of 7 elements, finding that Ag and Pb have great potentials.According to the geological conditions and the element anomaly characteristics,2 comprehensive anomalies are delineated.Trenching verification in the Ⅰ anomaly revealed 2  ore(mineralized) bodies, which could provide scientific evidence for nextstep geological exploration work.
