Relation between the structures and metallogenesis in Linglong-like type gold deposits on the north margin of Qaidam Basin—A case study of Sanjiaoding Gold Deposit

Abstract:

Sanjiaoding Gold Deposit is a Linglong-like type gold deposit hosted within an Ordovician granodiorite pluton newly discovered in recent years on the north margin of Qaidam Basin.Based on summary of the geological characteristics of the deposit,this paper analyzed and discussed the relationship between structures and gold mineralization.The results show that the orebody of Sanjiaoding Gold Deposit is controlled by different structures,and 2 types of ores,that is gold-bearing quartz vein type and gold-bearing silicified mylonite type,are formed in the district;the tensile joints developed within the weakly deformed area in the rock mass are the main ore host and storage space for gold-bearing quartz veins,while the NW-striking ductile shear zone controls the formation of gold-bearing silicified mylonite-type ore(mineralized)bodies.The corresponding ore-controlling structures are the priorities of future prospecting.
