Abstract:

Most of the cyanide-containing wastewater produced by cyanide gold extraction process contains metal cyanide complex ions, which will consume extra cyanide and affect the production process index. In this study, the acylation strong alkaline ion exchange fiber (ASA-IEF) was prepared from polypropylene fiber and its ability to remove metal cyanide complex ions from wastewater was studied. The optimal preparation conditions of ASA-IEF were as follows:reaction time 4 h,reaction temperature 30 ,the molar ratio of trichloroacetyl chloride to styrene is 11.2.The fiber weight gain rate could reach about 44.0 % under these conditions.Dynamic adsorption experiments showed that the best adsorption effect was achieved when the flow rate of solution was 15.0 mL/min,and the increase of temperature promoted the adsorption of ASA-IEF surface active groups on metal cyanide complex ions. The experimental results on cyanide-containing wastewater treatment showed that the removal effect of ASA-IEF on cyanide was better when the dosage of ASA-IEF was 8 g.The ASA-IEF prepared in this study could provide a solution for the recovery of cyanide and valuable components from cyanide wastewater.
