Abstract:

As the gold-loaded medium in a CIL/CIP circuit, activated carbon has to be regenerated to keep its activity for Au adsorption.Based on the properties of activated carbon and principles of Au adsorption, the activity decline mechanism for gold-loaded activated carbon is discussed.Based on these, the common techniques for regeneration of activated carbonare are concluded.Several regeneration techniques with industrial prospects are enumerated briefly with their principles, regeneration effects and technical maturity, including new type acid washing column, ultrasonic reinforced acid washing, enforced discharge regeneration, microwave regeneration and electro-heating regeneration. The study provides reference for the research and application of gold-loaded activated carbon regeneration technology.
