Abstract:

The cyanide tailings from Paishanlou Gold Mine are stockpiled in the tailings pond.In order to use them as aggregates for underground backfills, experiments on cyanide removal by low temperature roasting were carried out.Besides, roasting temperature, roasting time, roasting thickness and compactness are optimized. The results show that the low temperature roasting method can effectively remove the total cyanide from cyanide tailings. After the treatment, the total cyanide mass concentration can be reduced to less than 0.05 mg/L,meeting the requirement of groundwater standard and living up to the underground backfilling operation conditions. The study provides a new idea for the comprehensive utilization of cyanide tailings in gold mining enterprises.
