Boka Gold Deposit is an independent magmatic hydrothermal gold deposit first discovered in Paleo-Mesoproterozoic strata in Dongchuan,Yunnan Province in the 1990s.Based on the field geological survey and indoor rock-mineral identification, this paper focused on the geological characteristics of the Boka Gold Deposit, discussed the main ore-controlling factors, and summarized the ore-prospecting indicators for the deposit. The results show that the ore bodies mainly occurred in the middle-upper part of Pingdingshan Formation to the lower part of Yinmin Formation, with a near-SN occurrence and a steep incline to the east. Most of the ore bodies are irregular cryptomere and a few are lens-shaped or complex vein-shaped.Pyrite is the main gold-bearing mineral. The strata of Pingdingshan and Yinmin Formations, the main fracture zone and its intersection with the NW and NE faults,as well as the sodium diorites control the mineralization in the district and are important ore-controlling factors.Strata from the middle-upper part of Pingdingshan Formation to the lower part of Yinmin Formation, the near-NS fracture zone, the early Yanshanian sodium diorites, the contact interface between Dongchuan Group and Tangdan Group,as well as silicification and ferrodolomitization can be used as the main prospecting indicators.
