Abstract:
Against the backdrop of the comprehensive advancement of the "Four Modernizations", namely mechanization, automation, informatization, and intelligentization, in non-coal mines, promoting the coordinated development of ecological restoration and landscape design is an important way to put into practice the principle that "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets". Current mine governance efforts focus primarily on the single objective of ecological restoration while overlooking the synergistic value of landscape design, resulting in restored sites with limited functions, insufficient regional character, and inadequate cultural significance. This paper systematically reviewed the key elements of the "Four Modernizations" in non-coal mines and analyzed the relationship between ecological restoration and landscape design. It then reviewed the current state of research on their coordinated development across four dimensions, including quarries, waste dumps, route planning around mines, and abandoned mine lands. The analysis identified shortcomings in existing research in terms of technological application, governance models, and research methods. Finally, a coordinated development approach integrating "ecological restoration, landscape design, and cultural heritage preservation" was proposed. The findings offer guidance for the green and sustainable development of non-coal mines.
