Abstract: Tailings recovery bears great social and economic significance in enhancing secondary utilization of tailings resources and finding solution to the safety risks and environmental pollution due to the stockpiling of large amounts of tailings in tailings pond.In a case study of the tailings recovery from a tailings pond,the paper introduces the recovery process,sequence and method of the dry recovery method.The stability of the dam(slope) in the recovery process is calculated as well as the safety of flood prevention and drainage.At the same time,countermeasures are put forward corresponding to the safety challenges that might occur during recovery process.With this scheme,the recovery scale can reach 400 000 t/a,the stope workface proceeds smoothly,the stability of stope and dam slope is good.The study has practical reference value for tailings recovery projects in tailings pond.
