Abstract:
The study of the oxidation mechanism of pyrite is much, but no investigation has been made on the oxidation behavior of pyrite in the presence of Ni2+ in acidic solutions.Various electrochemical test techniques such as open-circuit potential measurements, linear voltammetric scanning, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy were used to investigate the electrochemical oxidation behavior of pyrite in an acidic Ni2+ solution. The experimental results show that the open-circuit potential of pyrite electrode decreases with increasing Ni2+ concentration, that the corrosion current density increases with increasing Ni2+ concentration, and that the oxidation rate of pyrite eletrode surface accelerates with increasing Ni2+.
