Abstract: The roof fall accidents happen frequently in metal mines.Once the accidents happen,there will be a great loss suffered by the mine.In order to effectively prevent roof fall and wall caving from happening underground,Hubei Sanxin company,based on historical geological basic work and many years’ engineering practice experience,adopts two-stage and three-grade management mode of roof pre-grading and onsite grading to carry out corresponding technical management and onsite management measures to different grade roofs.The practice shows that the roof grading and management method is scientific and easy to operate,and can meet the goal to prevent roof fall and wall caving from happening.
