Abstract:
The West Qinling is one of the important metallogenic belts of endogenic deposit in China, where hundreds of polymetallic deposits such as copper, molybdenum, lead, zinc, gold and silver deposits have been discovered. The zircon U-Pb dating of the Dewulu and Meiwu rock bodies in the central part of the West Qinling yields ages of 241.6 Ma±5.3 Ma and 237.0 Ma±3.3 Ma,respectively, which belong to the early Mesozoic. The geochemical results indicate that the rocks have the characteristics of peraluminous calc-alkaline S-type granite, and display enrichment in light rare earth element, depletion in heavy rare earth element, and obvious negative Eu anomalies.According to the regional tectonic setting,it can be considered that the Dewulu-Meiwu area experienced a transition from extrusion to extension, accompanied by strong magmatic activity in the early Mesozoic, which provided a large amount of granitic magma and ore-forming materials for the West Qinling.
