Abstract: Science and technology are primary productive forces.The development of science brings about the technical invention,innovation and diffusion,and it has become an important driving force behind the economic development and social progress.In order to summarize experience and facilitate scientific and technological innovation progress of nonferrous metals,gold(precious metals) industry,this paper used the analytical framework about science and technology innovation constructed by RAND National Security Research Division and the World Economic Forum to organize the information from the perspective of precious metals (gold) projects approved by National Key Research and Development Program,the R&D investment of Chinese top 4 gold groups in China gold industry,the awarding of the 3 great awards of State Science and Technology Award for science and technology projects in nonferrous metals,gold(precious metals) during 2001-2019,and the awarding of science and technology award in China nonferrous metals industry.In terms of two dimensions,namely scientific and technological investment and output (such as award),the scientific and technological innovation progress of nonferrous metals,gold(precious metals) industry in last 20 years is analyzed.
