Abstract:
Nibao Gold Deposit, located in Southwestern Guizhou,is regarded as an important composite Carlin-type gold deposit.Fault-controlling type,stratum-controlling type and oxidized type ore bodies have been recognized in the deposit and are correspondingly composed of breccia-type,tuff-type and oxide ores. This paper systematically tested the geochemical characteristics of the 3 ores. The results show that the chemical compositions in the ores vary greatly, but share the same geochemical characteristic of As-,Cu-rich and Na-poor,suggesting that the gold-bearing minerals in original ores show similar geochemical behavior under supergene conditions. The K2O formed illite instead of running away with fluids during hydrothermal process that came after, which suggested a sustainable ore-forming environment in the late phase. There are significant correlations between Au and Hg,Ag,Tl,etc.,suggesting that Au-Hg-Ag-Pb-Tl-As composite anomaly should be used as geochemical marker for mineral exploration in Nibao Gold District.
