Abstract: With more and more demanding requirements the country has for tailings pond management,on the premise of ensuring the normal construction and development of scarce and strategic mineral mines in Sichuan Province,the number of tailings ponds in the province should only decrease in principle and not increase.Based on field investigation,the present situation of environmental protection of  tailings ponds of 28 mine companies in Sichuan Province is analyzed in terms of wastewater,flue gas,noise,underground water,ecological environment protection,and so on,in hope that it can provide suggestions and references for environmental protection management of existing tailings ponds in Sichuan Province.
