Abstract: After Banmaogou tailings pond in Zhenyuan Gold Mine commenced,the problems are encountered,for example,flood drainage facility is damaged,rising rate of sub-dam is fast,micro-fine grain tailings precipitate slow,beach surface is short,slime surface is gentle,and sub-dam construction with tailings is hard.Effective measures such as flood drainage facility reinforcement and bank slope protection，sub-dam construction with rockfill materials,slot tube drainage and cyclone grading are taken so that the safe operation of tailings pond is maintained,which is demonstrative to the discharging of micro-fine tailings and can be promoted as a safe operation pattern.
